Body Beast Challenge

2/3/2015

Alright! So I have officially been done with Body Beast round #1 for about 2 weeks now and I havent posted yet. Sorry all :)

Anyways, this quickly became my favorite program. So I dont draw this out for longer than need be; I am going to try and let know why, no matter if you are female or male, you should absolutely be doing this program!

- Your building muscle! The main point of the program is to build muscle so it makes it easier for your body to shred the fat.

- The nutrition guidance is top notch amazing. I have never followed a nutrition plan until now. I am hooked on Sagi's method and tracking macro nutrients

- Nutrition wise, you really really start to understand the need to balance your food and eat enough of it. I ate (and still do) constantly to get all of my calories and macros in for the day. Eating lots= win in my book!

- If you are not new to lifting, you will be able to take the strength you already have and take it to the next level by staying on a schedule, shorter rest times, and exhausting one muscle group at a time for better results!

- If you are completely new to weight lifting (which I was) you learn correct form from the very start. Learning the right way from the start sets you up for success with being less likely to get injured. You can also feel like a total BOSS when you test yourself in the gym and you do everything with clean and pristine form!

- You are going to see non-scale victories so often that you will be running to the store to buy new sizes of jeans and shirts (and even bras and panties for the women) because the inches shred at an alarming rate.

My Transformation story:

I lost a total of 5 lbs. That is great! I replaced the fat with muscle and even lost a couple pounds.

I went from a size 8-10 to a size 2-4

I ate 2,000 calories during the Build and Bulk phase and 1,800 during the Beast (shred) phase)

I felt a little "fluffy" during the Bulk phase (no surprise) but trusted in the process and completely shredded in the Beast phase. (You MUST trust the process!)

I went from a size large shirt to a size x-small and small.

So ready for some before and afters? Here you go!

10/11/2014:

Today was the first day of Body Beast. I was thrilled to receive it last week, but I knew I had to research the meal plan and the workouts. I also needed to prepare with my equipment.

I have been using a huge over sized cooler (thanks mom!) for a workout bench for the longest time, but I finally upgraded to an actual workout bench. I cant say I love it, but it will do for now. In all this is what I added to my gym as well as what I already had:

1. Bench that lays flat and has three different back settings- New
2. 20 lb dumbells- new
3. 15 lb dumbells- new
4. 10 lb dumbells- already owned
5. 5 lb dumbells- already owned
6. Gym mat- already owned

I also added in a mirror to the gym that I always use during workouts. Proper form is super important! I catch so many mistakes or push myself harder by having the mirror.

I am stoked to begin the nutrition plan tomorrow since I prepared at the grocery store today. The plan is definitely the most relateable to me as far as meal options and is broken down so well to really dummy-fy the process. I couldn't be happier!

Before Pictures: (134 pounds, 5'7")
